Fed up with tearing and stuttering while playing your favorite games? If so the new ASUS VG248QE gaming monitor featuring NVIDIA GeForce G-SYNC is what you need!
The G-Sync technology ensures that the graphics card and monitor are fully synchronized with one another, thus solving such issues as stuttering and tear. With G-Sync, the refresh rate of the monitor is dictated by the graphics card and a new image isn't shown until it's fully processed.
The technique requires a special Nvidia module instead of the scaler that normally determines the refresh rate. This G-Sync module can currently be used in panels with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz and costs roughly $100. During Nvidia's event, several manufacturers already mentioned that they would adopt the technology. ASUS plans to retail the VG248QE with G-Sync module.
ASUS' VG248QE will be available in either the first or second quarter of 2014 and has a recommended price of $399. The same monitor without G-Sync is already available, at a price of $279.
