Exclusive ‘RoboCop’ Trailer Shows Off His (Literally) Hot New Robo-Suit

One thing's for sure about the upgraded Crime Prevention Unit on display in the rebooted "RoboCop": the guy can move.

If you were a kid who grew up in the '80s, chances are you physically imitated Peter Weller as RoboCop at least once. Weller's movements as the resurrected Officer Alex J. Murphy were stiff and specific — he moved like, well, a robot, due to the restrictions of the extremely cumbersome costume he had to endure day in and day out. Jack Black even made a bit out of it in Michel Gondry's valentine to the VHS era, "Be Kind Rewind."

Well, the wardrobe limitations of 1987 are long gone as the new "RoboCop" showcases a suit that simultaneously gives homage to Weller's classic get-up and improves upon it, specifically in the freedom of movement it allows. The new trailer for the film shows our Robo for the 21st century (Joel Kinnaman) engaging in a training exercise that has him running, jumping, twisting and turning about as he makes short work of his targets.

Watch the Exclusive New Trailer for 2014's 'RoboCop':

It's a far cry from the bulky nightmare donned by Peter Weller, who recently spoke about his experience with the suit to Ain't It Cool News guy Harry Knowles.

"It took three hours to put on the inner suit, and another seven hours to put on the outer suit," said Weller about his first time putting on his Robo costume. "I lost my mind."

Weller soon discovered that he could barely move at all in the get-up, which effectively destroyed all the "serpentine, liquid sort of movement" that he and mime Moni Yakim had developed together before the suit had been completed.

The extreme limitations of the suit caused a lot of tension between Weller, director Paul Verhoeven, effects supervisor Rob Bottin, and screenwriter Ed Neumeier, which caused Orion exec Mike Medavoy to consider shutting down production. Luckily, Yakim was called back in, and after the suit was stripped down some, he and Weller developed a new way of moving: very slow and big, which Weller admits at first felt "phony" and "like bad opera."

Cut to 26 years later and Joel Kinnaman is allowed all sorts of movement in his Robo-suit, which starts off with a blocky, silver look that resembles the original before getting a slick, trimmed-down, and all-black upgrade. This RoboCop costume allows for speed and agility ... even though it's apparently a little stuffy in there, as revealed in an interview with the cast at Moviepilot.

"The suit is hot," admits director Jose Padilha. "That's the only thing. [Kinnaman] wants to get in and out quickly."

Kinnaman himself refers to the suit as a "torture device," but old-school costume actor Michael Keaton tells the young whippersnapper to buck up.

"Bulls---. I've seen that suit. You try wearing my Bat suit," said Keaton in reference to his turns as the Caped Crusader in "Batman" (1989) and "Batman Returns" (1992). "You've got it easy."

Keaton himself gets some nice screen time in the new "RoboCop" trailer — it's fun to watch him as OmniCorp bigwig Raymond Sellars as he sits in a conference room and brainstorms what will become the new RoboCop, created as a "product with a conscience" that America can get behind — a "robo-phobic" America, as described by outspoken TV personality Pat Novak (played by — who else? — Samuel L. Jackson).

The trailer also reveals the film's global scope as the action is put in the context of what's going on in the rest of the world and not just in Old Detroit. The opening plays like a Neill Blomkamp film as ominous images of foreign countries being patrolled by robots (including the upgraded ED-209) have an "Elysium" and "District 9" kind of vibe.

Of course, Kinnaman has one other thing that Weller lacked back in the '80s: CGI. So some of the most active shots of RoboCop in the trailer are really digital doubles that couldn't even be imagined three decades ago. And while nothing will ever replace the original "RoboCop," this newfangled model definitely looks like it has some interesting tricks up its sleeve — and in its still-cool internal leg holster contraption.

"RoboCop" opens Feb. 12, 2014.

'Star Wars' Sequel Release Is Not Far, Far Away (Think December 2015)

We just got an early Christmas present ... for 2015.

After months of speculation, Walt Disney Pictures announced Thursday that "Star Wars: Episode VII," the next installment of the space saga, will open on Dec. 18, 2015.

"We're very excited to share the official 2015 release date for 'Star Wars: Episode VII,'" Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn said in a statement, "where it will not only anchor the popular holiday filmgoing season but also ensure our extraordinary filmmaking team has the time needed to deliver a sensational picture."

When Lucasfilm was originally purchased by Disney just over one year ago, it was announced that a new "Star Wars" film would be coming in 2015. The assumption at the time, though, was that the movie would open in the summer. The original movie opened on May 25, 1977, and set the template for the summer blockbuster that would dominate Hollywood for the next three decades. Every previous "Star Wars" film opened in the month of May, including the three prequels.

The move out of the summer gives director J.J. Abrams more time to work on the film, which he is currently rewriting with "Empire Strikes Back" screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan. In a surprise shakeup last month, it was announced that Abrams and Kasdan were replacing the original screenwriter, Oscar winner Michael Arndt ("Little Miss Sunshine"). Speaking for the first time publicly about the switcheroo, Abrams said in a conference call on Thursday that the time crunch was the reason for the change.

"It became clear that given the time frame and given the process and the way the thing was going that working with Larry in this way was going to get us where we need to be and when we needed to be."

"Working with Michael was a wonderful experience and I couldn't be a bigger fan of his or adore him more, He's a wonderful guy and was incredibly helpful in the process." Abrams continued. He also left the door open for Arndt, a noted "Star Wars" scholar, to help out with the two other sequels on the drawing board.  "He is one of the best writers around," said Abrams.

The full title has not been revealed yet and there have been no official casting announcements to date, either, though original stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford are expected to return. In the past few days, a casting call went out for two young leads, following an early search for a Wookiee-esque character.

Delaying the release also takes the highly anticipated film out of the extremely competitive field of giant movies that have already staked claims in the summer of 2015. "Marvel's The Avengers: Age of Ultron" (which will also be distributed by Walt Disney Pictures) will open the season on May 1, 2015, and other massive sequels for "Man of Steel," "Jurassic Park," "Terminator" and "Independence Day" are expected in the following months.

It's not known yet how the new release date will affect Disney's plans to release a new "Star Wars" film every year, alternating between episodes that continue the story from George Lucas's original trilogy and standalone films that tell different stories within the same universe.

Assassin's Creed Movie on May 2015, it's Official!

Assassin's Creed is going to be getting a big-screen movie adaptation in theaters just two years from now!

The film’s development has been pretty slow, and at our last estimate we said that it would be unlikely to hit theaters until 2014 at the earliest. Michael Fassbender, whose decision to produce and star in the film was a major boost towards getting it made, is also committed to play Macbeth in a new adaptation that is set to begin filming at the end of this year, and is currently shooting X-Men: Days of Future Past.

It’s looking like Fassbender will start shooting Assassin’s Creed more or less as soon as he’s done with Macbeth. Twentieth Century Fox will distribute the movie through its partnership with co-producer New Regency Pictures, and has set a Memorial Day release date of May 22, 2015, according to a report by Coming Soon.

It’s a lucrative and important summer date to go for, and for the time being there’s no other competition in that slot, though there’s a possibility that Assassin’s Creed will find itself bunking up with Star Wars Episode VII since all three prequels opened the same week in May. By the time the movie actually arrives, two more Assassin’s Creed games will have come out, according to Ubisoft’s current annual release plan for the franchise.

Movies based on video games don’t exactly have the best reputation, and after the Disney adaptation of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time fell flat both critically and commercially, the newly formed Ubisoft Motion Pictures is taking no chances with creative control. It was reportedly the video game company’s protectiveness of the brand which led to Dreamworks, Warner Bros. and Universal Pictures all turning down the option to distribute it, and may have been what led to Sony abandoning the project as well.

With distribution organized, a release date set, funding in place, a star attached, screenwriter aboard, and the game producer’s keeping everything in hand, Assassin’s Creed seems to be on the right path, and could shape up to be one of the statistically rare instances of a video game movie that actually turns out well.

Assassin’s Creed is out in theaters on May 22, 2015.

Bruce Wayne dies! Only in Justice League The Flashpoint Paradox

Imagine if Bruce Wayne dies and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Wayne lives. Who would become Batman and save Gotham from the filthy villains of the god-forsaken city? What if Barry Allen did not became the Flash? What if Superman didn't exist to save the world?

Spoiler Alert!!

Thomas Wayne's the batman in this movie and became more bad-ass than Bruce. He unmercifully kills any villain in his way rather than sparing them like the way his son Bruce does.

Maybe that would be enough to reveal what's on the movie :D

Overall, the movie is so brutal that for me I wouldn't recommend for little kids to watch.

It's an action-packed movie of an alternate universe of the Justice League to correct the past, to bring back reality and battle to stop the fall of the human raise.

Top 6 Iron Man Suits that are worth be seen on the Next Sequels

Here are the awesome compilations of the Iron Man suits that we may expect Tony Stark would wear on the next sequels of the Iron Man Movie and the Avengers!

Stealth Armor MK IV

Being powered by the R.T. node, this suit possesses lightbending technology for camouflage, holograms for disguise, and non-fatal and silent weaponry. It can use repulsors, but at roughly 10% the max output.

Hulkbuster Armor

In the World War Hulk event, Stark designed a new Hulkbuster armor, in order to battle the Hulk upon his return from space. He does so in World War Hulk #1, and initially was able to hold his own against his foe. The new armor was built as a large exoskeletal shell which fits around his normal armor and is equipped with rocket-boosted gauntlets, capable of punching the Hulk back several miles.

S.K.I.N. Armor MK III

Another cool development was Iron Man's improved Energy Absorber, which gave him the ability to transform the energy attacks of his foes into a boomerang blast. The SKIN Armor could absorb external energy, focus it, and then blast it out through the uni-beam. That said, the armor was still vulnerable to many attacks. MODOK's new turbo-charged mental blasts hit Shellhead so hard that they knocked Jocasta off-line.

Armaments: Pulse Bolts; Repulsors; Uni-Beam; Smart Bombs (perform as weapon or sensor array); Sonic Array (can knock enemies out with sonic barrage); Missiles (stored in large ports on the chestpiece); Magnetic Ray (allowed IM to magnetize external objects and move them around).

Bleeding Edge Armor

When asked if the Bleeding Edge is an upgrade to Extremis, Tony Stark comments, "Nah - this is what comes next." As such the new armor is a part of Tony Stark's now-posthuman biology - it is stored inside Tony's body in its entirety, "manifesting" itself when mentally commanded.

The neurokinetic user-controlled morphologic nanoparticle bundles that form the suit reside in Stark's body, and form a fibrous wetweb of iron and platinum, that can be commanded to form any type of structure upon Stark's skin, such as large boxing gloves, or weapons, including large guns extending from his arms or a lightsaber-like energy sword with which Iron Man was actually able to harm one of the Worthy during the 2011 "Fear Itself" storyline. The nano-machines can even mimic the appearance of clothes, and then dissociate to transform into the Iron Man armor whenever Stark wishes. The suit adds less than twenty-five pounds to Stark's body mass, and can stop a howitzer shell.

Iron Destroyer Armor

During the Serpent's War, which occurred in the 2011 "Fear Itself" storyline, Iron Man journeyed to the realm of Asgard, the home of his fellow Avenger Thor, in order to procure weapons to fight Odin's brother, The Serpent, and his generals, the Worthy, who were ravaging the Earth. In addition to the hand-held weapons he had forged for his fellow Avengers, Iron Man's armor received an additional coating of Uru by Asgardian blacksmiths, as well as magical enchantments by Odin. Iron Man referred to this manifestation of his armor as the "Iron Destroyer", for its resemblance to the Asgardian weapon, the Destroyer. Its magical enhancements disappeared when Odin left Earth at the conclusion of the Serpent's War, and Iron Man vented the uru from the suit's molecular structure before returning the metal to Asgard, where it was melted back down with the other loaned weapons.

Prometheum Armor MK II

The armor is constructed with hollow tube structures. The conduits and interfaces are wrapped around them. The structure allows air to flow freely and helps with temperature and pressure changes.

The armor's alloy is a combination of titanium and carbon nitride. It is covered with a special Aero-Gel that resists heat, sound and vibration. The armor sends small nanobots through the bloodstream to repair any damage to the wearer. In the case of severe wounds the bots form a patch. Sudden loss of power in this state could cause additional damage to the wearer. Beta particles are extracted from the air via electromagnetic field. This produces energy and superheats the air into plasma, which is vented through extraction tubes. Thermocouples are used in conjunction with the tubes. The armor can operate indefinitely when airborne.

The armor can also recharge itself through conduits on the chestplate.

The armor functions underwater, but the heat transfer is hampered by running water.

The armor is able to flash-dry after being in water.

The armor's paint is actually an LED coating. allowing it to cloak. Individual armor pieces automatically cloak when removed. The chestplate magnetically pulls them into place when needed.

The armor responds to multiple control methods; neural, voice, or eye-tracking cursor control. Vocal commands can be broadcast for intimidation purposes.
